Meet The Team

Mike DeVinny

I was born and raised in upstate New York just outside of Rochester, then moved to Gainesville, FL in 2002.   For most of the last 20 years, I’ve worked in the sales industry gaining valuable customer service experience.  I also worked for awhile in the mortgage lending industry.

I take great pride in providing the best service possible to my customers. I believe in honesty and integrity as my everyday core values in both my personal and professional life. Working with BoyCott Realty, which has these same values and puts clients first, was an easy brokerage choice for me. My goal is to help buyers and sellers through the entire real estate process by ensuring a smooth transaction while putting their interests first. I understand that buying real estate is one of the biggest investments you can make in your lifetime. I feel it is imperative to have someone knowledgeable, dependable, and dedicated to make it the best experience possible; with my sales experience and knowledge of the lending industry I can only help enhance this experience.

Outside of my real estate life, I am happily married to my best friend / wife, and have 3 wonderful children. I enjoy traveling, cooking, music, going to great concerts and all kinds of sports, Buffalo Bills (Go Bills!), Syracuse Basketball / Football (go Orange!) and of course our Florida Gators (Go Gators!)

Energized and ready to bring integrity and honesty to the real estate industry. I’m pleased and honored to have found and joined BoyCott Realty, where they believe in the same things and are committed to that cause. I have served honorably for eight years in the U.S. Army and have continued that service with the VA healthcare system for over a decade. I now want to take that commitment to you.

I desire to bring my knowledge to my community by helping our customers make informed decisions. In addition, I get to continue to serve my fellow veterans and their families navigate the complexities of a real estate transaction and their financing options. I want to be a positive impact on the lives of our community and helping people find their next home is a great way for me to give back.

As a Gainesville native I feel that my knowledge of the area is a great asset to my clients. Prior to my transition into Real Estate I worked as a mortgage broker for 4 years which allows me to coach and prepare my clients for what to expect during the buying or selling process. Being prepared and keeping the customer in the know is key to a smooth real estate transaction.

I’m proud of our community and I like to educate my customers on the ins and outs of everything Gainesville has to offer! Through real estate, I get to exhibit my strengths of compassion and generosity while at the same time doing whatever it takes to get the best deal for buyers and sellers. At BoyCott Realty, I’ve found it is the one brokerage that gets the customer is first, they really care about saving customer money by protecting equity for sellers and consistently negotiating the best prices for buyers.

When I take time off from kicking real estate butt, you can find me on the golf course working on my slice! I also enjoy cooking and traveling, and attending a great concert.

Although I was born in Nashville, I have lived in the Gainesville area for 30 years and call it home. I graduated from Santa Fe High School and landed my first “real” job when I was drafted in the Major League Baseball draft by the Cincinnati Reds. After 5 years, my career was cut short due to injury and I was no longer able to play the kid’s game. I have spent many years searching for the same passion I had for baseball. I attended the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Economics. I have worked for Fortune 100 companies and local credit unions. I was still unable to recapture that passion until I found real estate. I wanted to help people and guide them through one of life’s biggest decisions. I wanted to provide them with the tools and information to make decisions that will positively impact their life.  I wanted to give people options and allow them the opportunity to “Choose Their Experience.” Thus, BoyCott Realty was born.

Communication and respect with people is key to creating a solid relationship, for any and all relationships!  I’ve been in real estate since 1996, graduated with a BA in Human Relations, and taught relationship education for several years. I strive to set myself apart and create an experience unique to real estate.  I am going to listen to your needs and we’ll discover together the best plan of action to achieve your real estate goals.

In my spare time, I like to read, watch baseball (Go Cubs!), and spend time with friends and family on game night.  I also love to hunker down with some popcorn and watch movies.  In another life I am sure I was a fisherman, a rock star and a novelist, maybe that’s several lives!? I’ve learned that nothing feels better than being part of, or witness to, random acts of kindness. Pay for the customer behind you sometime, and let me know how you feel!

I was born and raised in Gainesville. After graduating from P.K. Yonge and Santa Fe College, I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional and Technical Writing from the University of South Florida. I also received a Paralegal degree from Southern Career Institute. After working in these fields and living away from Gainesville for 10 years I moved back to Gainesville to raise my kids. I love Gainesville, love the GATORS, and love raising my son and daughter here. I love sports, music, and the beach (especially the Caribbean). I also love comedy because I love to laugh and believe laughing keeps us healthy.

Prior to my career in real estate, I served for 15 years as a counselor and motivational speaker. I have spoken to and inspired women all over the country.

I have always enjoyed real estate and decided it was time to make it a career. As I changed my career path it was important to me to stay in Gainesville, as it is in my heart to serve the Gainesville community. It is important to me to not only build a successful career in the real estate industry but to give back to this incredible community. I am passionate and driven and love to help meet the needs of others.
